Earl Blumenauer was elected to the Oregon State House of Representatives at 23, where he chaired the Revenue and School Finance Committee. In 1978 he served on the Multnomah County Board of Commissioners, and eight years later worked as Portland’s Commissioner of Public Works when he was on the City Council. Blumenauer was elected to the U.S House of Representatives in 1996. He is currently serving his 8th term in the House. Official Biography
