After graduating from Xavier University, John Boehner started working for a small business in the packaging and plastics industry. He eventually worked his way up to president of the business. In 1982, he served as a Union Township trustee and two years later was elected as a representative to the Ohio State Legislature, where he served for six years. In 1990, Boehner was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives. In 2006, he became the House Republican Leader. He is currently serving his 10th term in the House. Official Biography
