Sen. Daniel K. Inouye (D-HI)

In 1924 he was born on Honolulu, Hawaii. In World War II he recieved the Medal of Honor after being wounded in combat. He was the Majority Leader of the Territorial House of Representatives. He is serving his eighth term as a U.S. Senator, which makes him the second most senior member of the Senate. He chairs the powerful Appropriations Committtee, which is in charge of federal spending.
