The workers in the government are now all on FERS no longer on CSRS and must pay SS taxes, Are the people when spend mega bucks to win a $125,000 to $300,000 job exempt from this because they had all the mega bucks to win said job?

The congressmen ran a campaign based on a committment to 2 terms and out. I want to know why he did not fulfill his promise. What factors led to his apparent change of mind.

Why can sitting senators virtually abandon their "day jobs" to run for President for more than a year? I assume they're getting paid normal salaries during this time. Why aren't you responsible for being in your office, or being on the Senate floor for debates or votes. Where is the obligation to represent your constituents?

I want this question asked of the three candidates. The user interface on this website is very clumbsy and kept returning an error when I tried entering "pres", as was suggested, or even the three names.

Why are the Democrats protecting billions of dollars for big farm subsidies when that sector of the economy is booming and not using the farm bill to as an opportunity for reform?

Democrats took the Congress pledging no special interests. Democrats also say they stand for the little guy. The subsidies are paying huge sums to millionaires--and raising taxes in order to do so! Wealthy farmers do not need our money. We need real reforms, support for nutrition programs, food stamps, and environmental programs.

As the Chairman of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, what are your priorities going to be in making sure that 2008 is a year of progress and change for the Democrats and Congress?

What is your opinion of the problem with electoral integrity regarding the use of voting machines which can be hacked?

It has been revealed that our voting machines are corruptible. Many believe they already have been tampered with. This subject is getting no attention in the mainstream media, nor by any elected officials, to my knowledge. It needs to be addressed.

What will you do to reform the redistricting system in this country, which has led to most seats in Congress being so safe that even a major shift in public opinion won't be reflected in an election.

I think legislative district lines should be drawn by non partisan commissions, not by incumbent politicians protecting their own interests by gerrymandering.
