Redefining abortion as any method of preventing conception as well as aborting a fetus has huge national ramifications. It helps to define sex as ONLY for procreation while takes no responsibility for the increased health costs and social service costs it will cause. It is a step to impose a strick moral defination on sex.

How can we have any chance of true "Health Care Reform" as long as the McCarren-Ferguson Act (passed in the 1940's) protects the insurance companies from any Sherman Anti-trust investigation and ,in fact, allows them to be the only industry for which the anti-trust laws do not apply ?

I am a 20-year constituent of what is now Texas District 2. I have lived in Washington DC for one year and Congressman Poe's office has been unresponsive to my requests to meet about the genocide in Darfur and his ability to raise his grade on DarfurScores.org. This has been especially important to me as a constituent especially since Congressman Poe's appointment as a Representative to the UN by President Bush.

Over withhold on your taxes & you can get an interest free refund and that's like giving the government an interest free loan. Why, if you under withhold, pay up any balance due when you file on time-- you will still be charged interest on the amount under withheld? Note, Maryland's interest rate is about twice that of the IRS rate-- why?

It's the law is NOT a justification and if that's the only answer it needs to be changed. Laws must be perceived as fair.

What can you do to make sure that I have the same privilege as Governor Palin in offering her teenage daughter the opportunity to make her own decision regarding her pregnancy? It seems that Palin wants to keep this personal decision within her own family, yet wants to change the laws to take away my opportunity to do the same.
